China is fast becoming the largest solar nation in the world, adding over 11.8 GW of solar installations in 2013 alone. A few years ago, it looked like China wasn’t doing a thing in solar, only caring about getting cheap electricity as quickly as it could. Since then, environmental issues have raised a lot of question among the Chinese people, urging the government to come up with solutions.
China has since then invested a lot in renewable energy and cleaner sources of power. Only in 2013 alone, China has installed over 11.8 GW of solar, becoming the number 2 country in PV capacity.
As China has said it wants 70 GW of solar installed by 2017, they are fast on their way of becoming the number 1 country in the world if it comes to installed PV capacity.
